“Truth will always be truth, regardless of lack of understanding, disbelief, or ignorance.” – W. Clement Stone
Every generation has had their “search for the truth” movements. I am a 60’s child. For us it was formed in “sex, drugs and rock & roll.” We ran off to India with the Beatles to meditate, took LSD with Timothy Leary, read book by Kerouac, poetry by Ginsburg, looked at art from Warhol and got our politics from the likes of Jerry Ruben and Abby Hoffman. It was a generation lost and wondering looking for “truth” and never finding it. Sad to say some are still stuck in the philosophical woods, but some of us grew up and found out something that shook our world. The truth was never lost at all – we were.
Success-Minded People know that truth is not hidden from us nor is it complicated. Truth has always been the same – those things that were true centuries before and still true. It is not subject to the perceptions of each person. If that were the case there would be no truth at all (which some do believe is true). Truth is also everywhere you look. Albert Einstein said “The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.”
Many who are their continual search for the truth have no desire to really find truth at all. They use their confusion to excuse their behavior, laziness and emptiness. If you are forever searching you cannot be held accountable if you never find what you are looking for. Winston Churchill said “Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened.”
As a Success-Minded Person you need to embrace the truth in life and live it. I need not go through a long list of truths you should know. The fact is we know the truth when we see it. It is nothing new to us. Success-Minded People know full well that living right, having honor and integrity, living for God and pursuing the best for all will reveal the truth in our life. It has always been that way. It is like what Lady Margaret Thatcher said: “Of course it’s the same old story. Truth usually is the same old story.”
The thing to remember is never to believe a lie. Some sound good and very appealing, but they are filled with death and destruction. Many will try to present to you half truths that make sense and seem reasonable, but as Benjamin Franklin said “Half a truth is often a great lie.” The truth in life can be hard and difficult, that is why so many are willing to believe the pleasant and easy way of a lie. But we cannot achieve success if we are lost in a world of lies. Success-Minded People understand the truth is always the better way and that to be a trustworthy and honorable person is worth any price we must pay for it.
I love this word. So true! We are told by God to love truth, but oh it hurts to give it and to receive it. One of the most beautiful moments in my life was when God revealed to me an ugly truth about myself. I was totally in the dark. But when I realized that people already knew that about me and had just loved me in spite of it,..I was overwhelmed by their love.
