The 5th of July

Yesterday I had the privilege of marching in the 4th of July parade with my grandson. We marched with the Cub Scouts: he is a Tiger Cub and I am a leader. My grandson Dylan got to carry the American flag down the street in our home town. He was so proud and wanted his folks to see him with the flag. I too was proud. Proud that we are Scouts. Proud that we are Americans. And proud that my grandson is learning to love his country and her flag.

When asked who the most influential Success-Minded Person in the world today is the answers can cover a wide range. Of course, depending on the country you are in it could be any political leader or the person in the news at the moment. In business it can be a number of people from Bill Gates to Richard Branson. Some may pick people from the world of arts and entertainment or the movers and shakers in modern culture. Putting all of them aside, I will tell you that the most influential person is you.

The Power of Your Idea

Here is a question for you: What have you been thinking about? What idea keeps coming into your head that you think on but do nothing about? I know you have one – or two – or more. Unless you are brain dead you get ideas, it is part of the human condition. Getting ideas is not anything special, it is doing something about them that is special. Cartoonist Ashleigh Brillant said, “Good ideas are common – what’s uncommon are people who will work hard enough to bring them about.”
